The Challenge
BNZ had a pressing deadline for ensuring regulatory obligations for system of record were met. With a SharePoint 2010 highly-available platform, and 17+ TB of image files, client PI data, intranet the bank needed to ensure their 5000+ staff were not interrupted with day-to-day customer interactions. Unfortunately, internal development and operational teams did not have skill, or expertise to address the problems involved in modernisation and migration.
The Solution
Spoke consultancy provided the technical lead and project subject-expert with migration experience to take point on strategy and leadership for application (re)development necessary to update the legacy document management framework, the workflows and manage workload separation from historical model during migration. Guiding the design for new platform, the migration planning and sequencing, and platform subject expertise as QA over internal team, Spoke took on the lead for the project with the customer.
The Result
The banks modernisation of is core customer system-of-record, and the corporate intranet, successfuly completed with:
• design for multi-stage rolling upgrade for highly-available, geographically split farm
• updated business solutions, modernised workflow design and deployment to a supported platform
• migration of content and access during managed windows while running 24x7
• plus the introduction of a new Enterprise Search user-experience
